Design, Character, and Modularity for the Fantasy Football Tabletop
At Kraken 3D Studios, every project begins with one goal: to create pieces that not only print and paint well but also tell stories on the table.
With our latest Kickstarter, Gates of Glory, we pushed that vision even further—offering Fantasy Football players and hobbyists a system packed with modular elements, narrative depth, and stylistic variety. But beyond the end product, what defines this campaign is the complete handcrafted process behind it.
It All Starts With a Sketch
Before the first STL is exported, we go through an internal creative process of concept sketches, composition tests, and narrative exploration. What should a fantasy stadium feel like? What visual cues make a gate look humble, noble, or war-torn? Every piece starts as a visual story.
Sculpted by Artists, Not Algorithms
Each prop, gate, and sideline element was sculpted by our in-house team, with attention to detail, consistency, and printability. We never use AI tools—only trained eyes, sculpting hands, and a passion for functional design.
We want to take a moment to thank our incredible artists for the love and dedication they pour into every project. Their work isn’t just technically excellent—it’s full of personality, balance, and style. Without them, Gates of Glory simply wouldn’t exist as it does.
Tested With Real Printers
Before anything is published, we print every model in resin and FDM, using real-world hobby printers like the Elegoo Saturn 2 and Creality Ender 3. In Gates of Glory, we tested supports, tolerances, snap-fit assembly, and durability. The result? Models that look great and work flawlessly.
Yes, We Use Renders… But Always Back Them With Real Photos
We use renders to showcase versatility and design clarity—but every model was printed, assembled, painted, and photographed in our studio. That way, what you see on screen is what you’ll actually get on your table.
Three Stadium Styles, One Immersive Collection
One of the key strengths of the Gates of Glory campaign was the depth and variety of content offered—not just in structure, but in atmosphere. At its core, the campaign provided three complete visual identities for stadium builds:
Standard Stadium – Balanced, neutral, and practical. A great base setup suitable for any team or league.
Poor Stadium – Built from scrap, worn timber, and salvaged parts. Perfect for goblin teams, underdogs, or wild local leagues.
Noble Stadium – Grand arches, polished stonework, and rich banners. A fitting arena for elven elites, noble houses, or championship matches.
But the real magic came in the extras. These versions give players more narrative options and replay value, all while using the same modular system.
Miniatures With Personality
The campaign introduced a selection of crowd minis, referees, and sideline characters, all sculpted with energy, expression, and charm. These aren’t generic tokens—they're storytelling tools that help you bring your stadium to life.
Props and Sideline Accessories
From benches, fences, flagpoles, vendor stalls, magical totems, and modular barriers, the campaign was packed with terrain pieces that add immersion to the edge of the pitch. These elements aren’t just decorative—they’re designed to enhance the scene and the story unfolding around the match. Together, these stadium styles and scenic elements offer players a complete hobby experience: a space to paint, to customize, to display, and most importantly—to play in a world that feels alive. This is more than terrain. It’s a living, breathing backdrop to every pass, foul, touchdown, and epic moment on the field.
Stretch Goals: Built Together With the Community
Throughout the Gates of Glory campaign, we unlocked new content thanks to the support and engagement of our backers. Each stretch goal added more detail, customization options, and personality to the stadium system. Among the unlocked rewards:
New thematic fences for each stadium type.
New CHARACTERS
Decorative columns and ornamental tops for the main gates.
Team banners and flag packs to enhance visual identity.
Sideline props, VIP areas, and extra bench details.
All of them were designed, sculpted, and test-printed in-house—expanding your stadium without compromising compatibility or modularity.
